Zodiacal light / Zodiakallicht

This Saturday was more or less clear, so I decided on heading to the Chiricahua Astronomy Complex (CAC) to join other fellow members of the TAAA. I knew that it was kind of gambling since the weather forecast was so-so. After setting up the scope and watching a beautiful, yet somewhat cloudy sunset, I got ready for observing. My plan was to sketch M 23 and M 24 in Sagittarius. I managed to accomplish the first half of this mission, even though I was interrupted by crossing clouds repeatedly. Somewhen I had to accept, that the observing conditions were too bad to proceed, so I took a nap in my car. When I woke up around 2:30 am I found a very clear and dark sky, only a little affected by clouds, so I sketched M 1 and M 78.
The zodiacal light was meeting in the morning hours and it was quite impressive. When I first saw it a couple weeks ago, I thought twilight was about to come, but then I learned, that it was way to early for that.
Altogether, I am contended with the results.

Dieser Samstag war mehr oder weniger klar, also entschied ich mich, zum Chiricahua Astronomy Complex (CAC) zu fahren und mich dort Mitgliedern des TAAA anzuschließen. Ich wusste, daß ich damit etwas gezockt habe, da die Wettervorhersage durchwachsen war. Nachdem ich das Fernrohr aufgebaut und einen schönen, aber etwas wolkigen Sonnenuntergang angeschaut habe, machte ich mich bereit zu beobachten. Mein Plan war, M 23 und M 24 im Schützen zu zeichnen. Ich habe die erste Hälfte der Mission zu erfüllen, obwohl ich wiederholt von durchziehenden Wolken unterbrochen wurde. Irgendwann musste ich akzeptieren, daß die Beobachtungsbedingungen zu schlecht waren um weiterzumachen., also nahm ich ein Nickerchen im Auto. Als ich gegen 2:30 am Morgen aufgewacht bin fand ich einen sehr klaren und dunklen Himmel vor, der nur ein wenig von Wolken beeinträchtigt wurde. Also zeichnete ich noch M 1 undd M 78. Das Zodiakallicht gab sich ein Stelldichein und war ziemlich eindrucksvoll. Als ich es das erste Mal vor einigen Wochen gesehen habe, dachte ich, daß die Dämmerung eingesetzt hatte, aber dann habe ich herausgefunden, daß es dafür noch viel zu früh war.
Insgesamt bin ich mit den Ergebnissen zufrieden.
